Sodium laureth sulfate is a surfactant that lowers the surface tension between ingredients. It is used as a cleaning and foaming agent. It is milder and less irritating than sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). It is used in products like shaving creams, lip balm, sanitizers, exfoliants, hand soaps, toothpastes, body washes, bubble baths, etc.

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is a naturally-derived ingredient that comes from the fatty acids that are present in isethionic acid and coconut oil. These fatty acids are reacted with sodium isethionate and the mixture is heated to remove any water left behind. Further, the mixture is distilled to remove excess fatty acids. In its raw form, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate appears as a fine white powder.

Derived from sarcosine, an amino acid that occurs naturally in the body, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is frequently heralded for being a thorough cleanser but also for being gentle.
